ABOUT ARTFaces | ARTPlaces

ARTFaces | ARTPlaces was created in 1998 by a group of artists, who met through an online Arts message board. Their idea was to band together and form a website where they would get more exposure in the growing world of the Internet. They also wanted to put a "face" to the art, introducing the viewer to each artist and providing a link to each artist's "place" on the internet. Thus Artfaces|Artplaces was born.

The solid foundation created by our original artists continues. In July 2008 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary. That makes us one of the oldest online Art Galleries on the internet.

Our front page lists every member artist with a link to their profile page and a link to their website. Every day we feature three of our artists on the front page, plus the most recently update profile pages with links to the Gallery. There is also a randomly selected artwork image that changes each time the page refreshes with a link to that artist's Profile Page. We also have a "Search by Medium" section, where the viewer can narrow down their search.

We do not sell artwork nor do we take a commision from any sales the artist makes. If you see artwork that you are interested in, please contact the artist directly.

A photo or Self-Portrait of each artist links to each Artist's Profile Page. Sample artwork by each artist links to their Website.

This popular E-zine is no longer being published. It's articles included art instruction and news and events for our members and about our members. We hope to revive it as a "members only" feature where members can communicate with each other, ask art-related questions and make announcements.
This was a site created by one of our members. It was an educational, activity-filled, site for young artists. It is no longer an active site, but it deserves mention for it's well deserved popularity.
