My continuing interest in psychology is now expressed by trying to capture mood and feeling with paint and paper. ~ Susan B. Mauney

Before retiring to Southport, I was a psychotherapist in Raleigh for 20 years. My first drawing lesson was fifteen years ago in night classes at Meredith College. I then studied privately for two years at Artspace in Raleigh. I have taken more than a dozen week long workshops - most notably with Don Andrews, Louise Cadillac, Miles Batt, Skip Lawrence, Polly Hammett, Alex Powers, and John Salminen.
For the past several years I have studied art fundamentals, drawing, and painting in weekly classes with Rusty Hughes in Southport.
